HTML Structure - Tags

HTML is a language. Languages have rules and exceptions to those rules. Therefore, HTML also has exceptions. For example, HTML has opening and closing tags. However, few tags do not require a closing tag. Instead, the exceptional tags require something different. Typical HTML tags look like this: <html></html>. You will notice that the closing tag has a “/” there. That’s what all HTML tags look like, except a few. Here are a few more examples: “<head></head>”, “<title></title>”, “<body></body>”. Tags are sometimes referred to as elements. By the way, I just gave you the main tags that make up a Web page! Let’s not worry about the exceptions right now. They are easy, and you should get the basic structure of HTML down first.
