Does JavaScript Slow Down Web Sites?

Of course, Web browsers need to process the JavaScript code and execute it. Therefore, the short answer is yes. However, JavaScript technology is constantly improving its speed. Now, it is much better to have JavaScript enabled in your Web browser than not have it. Web sites like Facebook, YouTube & especially Google have JavaScript features. JavaScript is a standard across Web sites. So JavaScript only slows down Web sites by a percent or two, depending on Web site validity. If the creator of a Web site does not effectively program JavaScript in a Web site, that Web site may not load fast enough.
